Sound familiar?

You don't need a lecture. You need your return done right,

and a straight answer on what it costs.

Last year's preparer is gone

You got your return, and then nothing. No one to call in June.

You found out you owed in April

Nobody told you in October, when you could still have done something about it.

You're not sure it was done right

It got filed. Whether anything was missed, you have no idea.

Nobody explained it to you

You signed where they pointed. You still don't know what happened.

What we handle

We prepare accurate returns, help you plan ahead, and stay available after filing season ends.

01

Individual tax returns

Federal and state income tax preparation and filing

Self-employed and freelance returns, including Schedule C

Investment income, rental income, and retirement distributions

Multi-state filing

Prior-year returns and amendments

Single-member LLCs — your business income goes on your personal return

02

Planning for the year ahead

Estimated quarterly tax guidance

Retirement room — SEP-IRA or Solo 401(k) before it closes

Equipment timing — Section 179 decisions before you buy

Income timing between years when it helps

Whether an S corp election would help or hurt

03

Year-round guidance

Tax support beyond filing season

Clear guidance before major decisions

Help reducing year-end surprises

Planning tied to your actual numbers

Run an S corp, partnership, or C corp?

Those returns have their own deadlines and their own page

A return looks back. Planning looks ahead.

By the time you file, most of your options are gone. A return records what already happened. Planning happens during the year, while you can still change the outcome.

What it costs

Here's what we charge. Most places won't tell you until you're sitting in the chair.

We think you should know before you call.

Wages & Retirement

$350 – $395

One W-2, or retirement income only. Standard deduction. One state

Social Security, pensions, IRA withdrawals, interest and dividends.

Itemized & Investments

$425 – $550

Multiple W-2s. Itemized deductions. Dependents and education credits. Investment income. One state.

Where most families land.

Self-Employed & Rental

$650 – $950

Schedule C or 1099 income. Rental property. Stock sales. A K-1 you received. More than one state.

Sole proprietors and single-member LLCs — your business goes here.

Complex

from $950

Multiple rentals or multiple K-1s. Equity compensation. Crypto activity. Foreign income or accounts. Trust or estate income. Carryforwards we track year to year.

Priced after we see the documents.

  • Each additional state is quoted as an add-on.

  • Prior-year and amended returns are quoted separately.

  • If we do your bookkeeping, your return is quoted and invoiced separately, at a reduced price. We don't fold return preparation into a monthly fee — you should always see what your return costs.

  • You get your price in writing before we start. It doesn't change unless the work does.

What makes a tax return cost more?

Five things move the price: how many sources of income you have, how organized your records are, how many states you file in, whether prior years need fixing, and how late in the season you come to us.

How many places your money comes from

One W-2 is one number. A W-2 plus a rental plus a brokerage account plus a side business is four sets of records, and they all have to agree. Every source adds work.

Do you charge by the form?

Because we already know the numbers  are right.

When we've reconciled your accounts every month, the return comes out of the books. Nothing to verify, nothing to chase.

When we haven't, we're reviewing a year of records we've never seen before we can sign the return. That's real hours, and there's real risk in putting our name on numbers we didn't produce. The price reflects both.

Is a cheaper preparer good enough?

Sometimes, yes. And we'll tell you if that's your situation.

If you have one W-2 and take the standard deduction, software will handle it, and you don't need us. We'd rather say that than take your money.

The moment you have a business, a rental, a K-1, or a year with something unusual in it, the math changes. One missed item costs more than the difference in fee. And software won't call you in October.
